I wanted to try something really different today. I picked up some masking fluid and watercolors from Michael's today and some crappy brushes.
Gerard was only the subject because I just wanted to try this idea and really didnt want to do one of my friends only because I was scared it wouldnt look good XD. I took a picture I found of him, threw it in Photoshop, made it greyscale and then adjusted the threshold until it was black and white to the point where I wanted it. I used a lightbox, painted all the "white" areas with masking fluid and let it dry. Then went over it with watercolor paints and waited for that to dry. After everything settled, I used a polymer eraser to lift part of the masking fluid up and just peeled it all off! This was the result. I'm actually kind of proud of this... |
